Wave Sports + Entertainment Teams with Snap to Launch GYM HEROES Mini, the First Social Fitness Experience on Snapchat

Available globally, GYM HEROES Mini is the first social fitness experience on Snapchat. The GYM HEROES Mini offers three, 30-minute original workouts daily curated by fitness experts. The companies have enlisted top fitness talent from across social media to contribute workouts for the GYM HEROES Mini, including Pineapplebrat, Jo Lindner, and Jen Selter.

Unlike many workout apps that concentrate solely on the individual using the app, the GYM HEROES Mini is designed for Snapchatters to challenge their friends and collaborate in groups toward their workout goals. GYM HEROES Mini encourages Snapchatters to build a daily habit around fitness with their friends while allowing them to track their fitness progress. With nearly 5 Million followers on Snapchat, GYM HEROES deepens the experience and fun for fans and exercise enthusiasts alike.

How It Works

After selecting a workout, a Snapchatter is shown an instructional video and chooses how many reps they intend to do. The user will then launch the camera to capture and share their exercise with friends or the Snapchat community. The “gym heroes” who share their workouts with the community or on Spotlight may also be featured on a future episode of GYM HEROES on Snapchat’s Discover.

Each chat conversation makes up a team, and each exercise is worth points that will accumulate over time. Highly engaged users will have an opportunity to track fitness milestones and progress and collect achievement awards along the way. Workouts on the GYM HEROES Mini are ephemeral, expiring after 24 hours.

Workouts from Top Gym Heroes

WSE has enlisted some of social media’s top fitness talent to contribute workouts to the GYM HEROES Mini, including:

  • Pineapplebrat (aka “Alice”): Alice is known for her method of following routines that helped dozens of clients and followers transform their bodies. Alice prides herself on creating a mindset that is sustainable and a physique that is attainable. She will be focusing on leg workouts.

  • Jo Lindner (aka “joesthetics”): Joe Lindner is a German bodybuilder, fitness model, and social media influencer who is known for the fitness-related tips, tricks, and routines. He rose to popularity through his ripple effect chest move where he makes the fibers in his chest twitch in a wave pattern. He will be focusing on chest workouts.

  • Jen Selter: Often called “Ms. Fitness” due to her direct-to-audience content and care for her physical and mental health, Jen established herself as the hub for “Anytime Anywhere” fitness and nutrition content. Today, she is one of the top most followed fitness personalities boasting more than 44 million followers across platforms. She will be training abs/core as her Snap Mini.
